Alice Macdonald - chrysalis

My unique and ethereal necklaces are inspired by lace and textiles. They are fine wire used as a thread and crocheted. I then use a variety of fiber techniques to build up layers of gemstones, pearls, and beads with the wire, including weaving and sewing. I then use bead embroidery methods and wire wrapping. I finish the necklace with a set of wire wrapped earrings. My silk satin scarves are romantic and luxurious. I ombre dye(gentle blending of color) in acid dyes and hundreds of dips in alternating color vats of hot water with acid dyes. Citric acid binds the color added at exactly the right .I repeat the process with rare Venice lace using fiber reactive dyes. The edges are then sealed and sewn. A perfect accompaniment with my jewelry.
